This is perfect for class teachers, NQTs (newly qualified teachers), LSAs (learning support assistants), TAs, (teaching assistants) Senior Leadership Teams, (SLTs) SENCOs (special educational needs co-ordinators) in mainstream or specialist schools. The programme is also ideal for other professionals, e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists, pastoral leads, who may wish to gain deeper understanding about neurodivergent learners, in particular Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) & Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Training can be delivered off the shelf or we can create a bespoke programme to meet the specific challenges you are experiencing.  All training is evidence-based, experiential and is delivered with drive and enthusiasm. Training days are targeted at either primary or high school learners and can form part of your school or organisation’s ongoing CPD continuing professional development programme.

Sample training programmes:

  2. How and why neurodiverse learners mask or manage their cognitive and sensory differences.  How to recognise and meet unrecognised or undiagnosed neurodiverse learning needs in your setting.
  3. Part 1 Recognising and supporting traumatized neurodiverse learners Part 2 Recognising and supporting neurodiverse learners with attachment issues.
  4. Pedagogy for neurodiverse learning and attainment.

  7. Learning from own voices: the lived experiences of neurodiverse young adults: positive reflections on their school experience of discrimination and bias: what comes next?

Adaptive CBT for Children & Adolescents

CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) is clinically proven to alleviate some of the symptoms of depression and anxiety disorders in children and adolescents. However, because of the abstract nature of thinking about thinking, a traditional approach can be less effective is some neurodivergent learners, which many families find disheartening.

Suzy’s adaptive application of traditional CBT, with a variety of holistic techniques, encourages young people to understand more about the unique nature of their condition, which can be transformative.

If you would like to speak with Suzy in confidence, please either book a discovery appointment or email nadene@happyinschoolproject.com who will arrange an appointment for you.
