I Can't Go To School

I cant go to school

This is the book you need if your child or teen struggles with school anxiety or finds it difficult to go to school for any other reason.

Written in child-friendly prose with simple exercises and conversation-starters, it will help you and your child open up new discussions which will get both of you talking more openly about the issues at school (these conversations are not easy with children after a certain age!)

If your child is introduced this book at school, they may be working through it with a mental health support worker, SENCO or ELSA (emotional learning support assistant). However they’re reading it, you will realise that their plan for going back to school is unique to them, and they will need to take it at their own pace. If being in a school setting isn’t right for them, the book briefly covers some alternative learning environments for you to consider.

“Your parents and teachers might be having a hard time understanding why going to school is tricky for you. But don’t worry, there are things you can do and there are things that other people can do to help you. By working through this book, we can explore some of the words you can use to get help and activities you can try that will make being at school feel better..

Whether you’re working through this individually, or if your parents, teachers or therapist use the downloadable guides to go through this workbook with you – you’ll soon discover what works best for you to get the most of learning and education!”
